President’s Message

Dear Members,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a restful summer. This year brings a new contract that provides salary increases and job protection for all our members. We achieved this together and I thank you for your continued support.

Together let us remain unified as we struggle in the fight to fund our pensions. Keep informed by logging into www.njea.org. Tell your state legislators that New Jersey must fulfill its obligation and fund our pensions. Volunteer to attend rallies and legislative sessions to tell your stories. Your devotion to Union City’s public schools has made us the model of a successful urban district. You have spent your career paying into your pension. You should be able to rely on that pension when you retire. Tell them your story! It is a story of commitment to the children of Union City. The state of New Jersey must honor their commitment to our members and fund our pensions.

May all our members have a successful school year.

In unity,

Antoinette Fellowes

President
